I have read some of the older threads on sea hood repairs and if someone who has done theirs maybe can give me some more insight.
Our sea hood appeared to be a little spongy when we stepped on it as well when ever it rained we were getting a lot of water running in the two troughs at the rear of the companion way which would make it difficult to keep dry as the cockpit cushions and seats would get soaked.
I removed the sea hood prior to putting the winter cover on. I stripped the underside today. The underside fiberglass layer was loose on about 1/2 of it so a little grinding and off it came.
The plywood underneath was all wet and pretty punky in some spots. It came off pretty easy as there seemed to be very little epoxy or fiberglass holding it to the hood
